What is a Google Ads Dashboard?

A Google Ads dashboard is a clear overview, transforming complex ad data into clear, visual snapshots of your account. See exactly how your campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and creatives are performing, all in one place. Instead of navigating through multiple reports in the Google Ads UI, these dashboards are user-friendly and easy to use.

You’ll be able to track the KPIs that matter most to you, such as clicks, conversions, CPA, ROAS, and more to get to grips with what’s working and what isn’t. With our Google Ads Data Studio dashboards, you can get instant insights around all your campaign types without having to deal with fiddly CSV files.

Four benefits of Google Ads dashboards

Trying to find the right section in Google Ads, whilst easy for a pro, can be a time sink. Our dashboards have one goal: to make your life easier.

Complete campaign visibility

No need to click into each campaign to get to the nitty-gritty in performance. Track all Google Ads campaigns in one dashboard.

Track key metrics

Understand your target CPA, ROAS, and Gross profit holistically and at the campaign level. Easily drill down on key metrics.

Save time

If you're manually exporting CSV files to manipulate the data, it can take hours. Having a holistic view means you'll be able to spot where detailed analysis is required more quickly.

Clear communication with all

Sharing quick insights on Google Ads campaigns got a lot easier. No more screenshots and real-time data for all stakeholders.

What metrics can you track with our Google Ads dashboards

Impressions

The total number of times your ad was shown. This is important in understanding the total reach of your ads. Fluctuations could be indicate a wider problem with the setup.

Clicks

The total number of times someone clicked your ad. Whether that's a headline, ad extension, or CTA on a display or video ad. Low clicks despite high impressions? Your ad copy or creative probably needs a rethink.

CTR

Clicks ÷ impressions = CTR. A high CTR means your messaging is landing. A low one means your ad copy or creative isn't compelling enough to stop the scroll. Compare across ad group themes to pinpoint where the biggest gains are.

CPC

Total cost ÷ clicks = Avg. CPC. What you pay every time someone clicks. Costs vary by keyword competitiveness and quality score, so watch for volatility. A sudden spike could mean your ad quality has dropped, competitors are bidding harder, or you're paying for clicks that simply aren't converting.

Conversions

A conversion is any desired action after clicking your ad. Aa form submission, a purchase, a call. This metric tells you which ads, keywords and ad groups are actually delivering results.

Conversion rate

Conversions ÷ clicks = CVR. This shows how well your landing page converts clicks into customers. A low CVR usually points to a mismatch between your ad messaging and your landing page. A benchmark of 2–5% is a decent starting point, though it varies by industry.

CPA

Total ad spend ÷ total conversions = CPA. What you pay for a single lead or sale. Know your target CPA before you launch and you'll always have a clear benchmark to optimise against. It's how you separate the campaigns worth scaling from those that drain budget.

CPL

Total ad spend ÷ total leads = CPL. While CPA measures the cost of winning a customer, CPL measures the cost of capturing their interest. As long as your CPL sits below your profit per customer, you've got room to work with, especially if your lead-to-customer rate is strong.

ROAS

Revenue ÷ cost = ROAS. How much you make for every £ spent on ads. It's your clearest signal for profitability and the number to reach for when deciding which campaigns deserve more budget.

Quality score

Scored 1–10 by Google, quality score measures how relevant your ads and landing pages are to a given search. Score high, and you'll pay less per click and rank better. Score low, and you're paying a premium for poor positions. Use it to pinpoint exactly where to focus your optimisation efforts.

Search impression share

The percentage of eligible impressions your ads actually received. If it's lower than you'd like, your ads aren't showing as often as they could — usually down to budget constraints or low ad rank. Track it to see where you stand against competitors and how your campaign changes affect visibility.

FAQs

Data Studio is the primary tool for building customisable Google Ads dashboards. It’s what we have used to create ours! Google Ads and GA4 also offer pre-built reports and the ability to create custom dashboards to view ads data.

Once you purchase one of our Google Ads Data Studio reports, choose Google Ads as a data source, authorise access, and then the charts and filters will populate with your Google Ads metrics.

Key metrics include: clicks, impressions, CTR, average CPC, cost, conversions, CPA, ROAS, conversion rate, impression share, quality score, and search impression share.

Yes. That isn’t possible with our Google Ads dashboards as they’re pre-built for that data source. You can edit once purchased as you see fit to include GA4 and other data sources, for a more holistic view of ad performance.

Easy one. Just hit Share in Data Studio, pop in your team’s email addresses and choose whether they can view or comment. Prefer a link? Grab a shareable URL instead. You can also export a PDF snapshot if someone just needs a quick update.

Yes. In Data Studio, you can schedule email delivery (daily/weekly) to recipients with a snapshot of the dashboard.

Data refresh depends on the data source and Data Studio; Google Ads data typically refreshes automatically within minutes to hours, but you can set auto-refresh intervals per data source.

Think of our dashboards as your command centre. Interactive, visual and designed so anyone can understand what’s going on at a glance. Standard reports in Google Ads are just rows of data. Our dashboards actually tell you a story.

Keep it simple to start. Pick the KPIs that actually matter to you, set a date range, and let the colour-coded metrics do the heavy lifting. You’ll spot what needs attention without having to dig around.

Of course. With our dashboards, you can duplicate the report per account/client in order to easily distribute performance updates.

Zoom in or zoom out. Our dashboards let you view performance at account, campaign or ad group level, so you’re always looking at the right slice of data. For attribution, just make sure your conversion windows are set up correctly in Google Ads and the dashboard will do the rest.

First thing to check is whether your data source is still connected properly. That’s usually the culprit. After that, make sure your date ranges and filters match up on both sides. If it still looks off, give the data a few minutes to finish refreshing in Data Studio.
